This Privacy Policy explains how NyxBolt AI ("NyxBolt AI", the "App", "we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, stores, and discloses information when you use the main app and related Microsoft Store subscriptions or add-ons.

1. Information We Process

Depending on the features you use, NyxBolt AI may process the following categories of information:

• Microsoft Store entitlement data: subscription status, license state, Store-provided identifiers, receipt references, or purchase-token related data used to verify access to paid features.
• Built-in AI request data: text prompts, follow-up messages, selected text, images, and document content that you choose to submit to built-in AI features.
• Voice input data: microphone audio and speech recognition results when you actively start voice input.
• Custom model configuration data: endpoint URLs, model identifiers, aliases, and API keys that you configure for your own third-party AI providers.
• Local productivity data: settings, UI language, search preferences, favorites, BoltLinks, optional local history, and clipboard-related data used by features you enable.
• Local search index data: file and folder names, paths, metadata, and related indexing information stored locally to provide desktop search results.
• Operational and security data: installation identifiers, session metadata, request timestamps, nonce or signature-related metadata, quota or rate-limit records, and error logs used to secure and operate the service.

2. How We Use Information

• Provide desktop search, launcher, clipboard, settings, and other local application features.
• Process built-in AI chat, streaming AI, voice recognition, image understanding, and document-assisted AI requests.
• Verify Microsoft Store subscriptions, add-ons, trials, and feature entitlements.
• Protect the service against abuse, replay attacks, unauthorized access, and excessive usage.
• Maintain service reliability, troubleshoot errors, and respond to support or compliance requests.

3. Where Data Is Processed

• On your device: most settings, local indexes, favorites, optional local history, custom model credentials, and other local configuration remain on your device.
• By NyxBolt services: when you use built-in AI, built-in voice, or subscription verification flows that involve NyxBolt services, relevant request content and operational metadata may be processed by our gateway or backend services.
• By third-party providers you choose: if you configure your own custom AI model endpoint, your prompts, attachments, and related request data may be sent directly to that third-party provider under that provider's terms and privacy practices.

4. Full Trust and Windows APIs

NyxBolt AI is distributed as a packaged desktop application and declares the runFullTrust capability so the app can operate as a full-trust Windows desktop app. We use this capability to support desktop behaviors such as launching local apps and files, local indexing and search, clipboard-related features, desktop window behavior, and Microsoft Store license or entitlement integration.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share or disclose limited information only in the following situations:

• With infrastructure or AI service providers that help us operate built-in AI or voice features.
• With Microsoft or related Store services when required for entitlement, license, purchase, or compliance workflows.
• When required by law, legal process, security obligations, or to protect our rights, users, or services.

6. Retention and Security

• We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data in transit and at rest.
• Custom model API keys are intended to remain stored locally on your device unless you explicitly move or export them.
• Operational logs and entitlement-related records may be retained for security, fraud prevention, debugging, service operation, and compliance purposes for a limited period appropriate to those purposes.

7. Your Choices

• You control whether to use built-in AI, microphone input, clipboard-related features, and custom model integrations.
• You can remove local history, local configuration, or custom model settings from your device subject to the App's available controls.
• If you do not want data sent to a third-party custom model provider, do not configure or use that provider.

8. Children's Privacy

NyxBolt AI is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy at this page and revise the updated date above.
